Christmas In July – Operation Christmas Child

As most of you know, each year we collect small items to pack shoe boxes that are sent to children all over the world thru Operation Christmas Child!  This year, to get things going, we are holding a Christmas in July to start gathering these gifts.  Last year we donated 13 boxes, each containing 18-30 items for girls and boys ages 2-14.

We will pack everything according to age and gender, wrap each box in Charlie Brown wrapping paper, and prepare for “Drop Off” during the week of November 18-25th.

App of the Month: iWitness

iWitness is one of those must have apps that you need for personal safety.  iWitness should be one item in your overall plan to keep safe. It will not prevent bad events, but it could actually save your life.

The way it works is you 'arm' the app before you enter a 'potentially threatening environment'.  For example, if you are having to walk to your car late at night, you would arm the app before you walk out the door.

There are other globe/atlas type apps out there (i.e. Google Earth) but Barefoot World Atlas adds a lot more information and is much more visually pleasing.

New Chase Bank Phishing Scam

This e-mail greeted me this morning. It surprised me a bit because I don’t get bank notifications to this account. But the e-mail looks exactly like what comes from Chase. One of the things that caught my eye was the charge. And that is exactly what they (the senders) want you to see.
